I got my first paid client at 17.

I'm 21, I live in Ahmedabad, and I'm a Tech Lead at ByteHint. I learned most of what I know by being the only person who could fix what I'd shipped. So far that's meant desktop apps running as Windows services, a CLIP-based recommender, storefronts for paying clients, five hackathon wins, and one startup I shut down myself.

How I got here

I started freelancing at 17, building storefronts and company sites. I did three semesters of a BCA, then left to work full time at 20, so there's no degree.

At ByteHint I took over a desktop product at 16,000 users as its core developer, before there was a team to hand anything to. Every production incident and every angry customer email came to me while it grew past 250,000+ users. You find out fast which decisions matter that way, and it's how I ended up as Tech Lead.

Along the way I won five hackathons, including HACKaMINeD 2025 outright and the local round of NASA Space Apps 2024, which also earned a Global Nomination, top 947 of about 10,000 teams. They're all on the projects page. I also founded Wardro8e, a fashion discovery app, and shut it down in 2026 when the numbers didn't work.

Now I'm building Scri8e, search over Slack, Notion and Drive that respects permissions. This time I did more than ten customer calls before writing any code.

Off the keyboard I'm playing football, out on a trek, or rewatching DCAMU films. I'm told the Batman quotes have become a personality trait.

How I work

I'll tell you if you don't need me
A client once came to me wanting a developer. Two calls in, it was clear their product worked fine and nobody knew it existed. I turned the work down and told them to spend the budget on marketing. Six months of new features wouldn't have fixed that.
Scope comes before code
Most failed projects I've seen were scoped wrong. The code was fine. I spend the first conversations on what goes into version one and what can wait.
Then I build it, and I stay for what breaks
Electron apps running as Windows services at one end, React, Express and the AWS bill at the other. Advice lands differently from someone who has to live with it afterwards.
